The Irish Jazz Forum is pleased to announce that it will host its second national plenary gathering on 20 March at The Digital Hub in Dublin 8.
Building on the momentum of our first meeting, this plenary brings the community back together to focus on advocacy, music policy, collective organisation and cross-border collaboration. The day is being delivered in consultation and collaboration with our colleagues in the Better Live network, strengthening international exchange and shared learning.
We will be joined by international delegates who will contribute perspectives on how jazz forums and collective models operate in other contexts. Insights will be shared from organisations such as the Finnish Jazz Federation, Plataforma Jazz España and artist-led initiatives including Le Périscope, alongside representation connected to the Europe Jazz Network. These contributions will help situate the Irish Jazz Forum within a broader European conversation about structure, advocacy and collective voice.
The day will also include a focused discussion on Arts Council Music Policy B2.3, the formal launch of the Irish Jazz Forum website (this site!), and structured working group sessions addressing areas such as unified data gathering, all-island initiatives, International Jazz Day coordination and governance development.
This plenary is an opportunity for musicians, organisers and advocates to collectively shape the next phase of the Forum’s work. It is a space to consolidate ideas, refine priorities and move from discussion to coordinated action.
